December 2014 - Tokyo Dolpa 32

Tokyo Dolpa in Dec 2014 was pretty big again, but we came in force this time with a lot of friends, thanks to that and a number of guidebooks,
we (our friends, really) managed to score a real good number. First time I held such a low number in my hands.

After beginning of the line has formed, we are moving towards purchase area now.

Limited items selection
People get to choose limited items they want in an area like this.

Limited items selection
Since we were so early in the line, all items were still available (and there were a lot of highly desired re-releases!)

After collecting the right-for-purchase tickets, it was now time to actually go to the dolpa itself.

I started with a run through dealers to see what interesting stuff do they have there, so here's a random collection of their goods:

Now, this was a very strange sight. Typically VOLKS does not allow any non-VOLKS BJDs at their events, but these don't look like VOLKS bodies at all.

This is about as much at the dealer section as I had time for. There was a lot more interesting stuff, though, that I somehow did not capture.

Moving on to the VOLKS display.

First up is a one-for-all auction Alice and little Alice.

Alice and Little Alice one for All

It was very popular as people swarmed around it trying to get a picture.

And we also returned to the One-for-all auction display near the end of the event when nobody was there anymore:

Reisner One for All
Here's the lot #1 - Reisner. It sold for 305000 yen (about $2900 at the then exchange rate of ~105 yen per $1).

And the Lot #2 that we have seen already, but in a bit better quality. They sold for 760,000 yen (about $7238)

Moving on, there was a separate Tenshi no Sato exhibition:

Also at Tenshi no Sato there were three more Kasumis that were owned by VOLKS customers.

Then we moved into the other section of the Dolpa, this area was called Dollfie Family Tree:

This basically concluded the Dolpa for us, we did not win anything in bingo, but we did buy a lot of dolls for us and our friends.

For the dinner we went to a very fancy traditional Japanese rice restaurant. The main restaurant is in Kyoto, and Tokyo only had a small branch.

Now, this was very interesting - sweet rice wine. I've never heard about this before, and was pretty impressed.

The restaurant was very nice and the food was super great. They are located in Ginza and the name is Hachidaime, definitely recommended if you are around.

And then we went back home concluding our winter 2014 Tokyo visit.
